On yer mark get set.... KDS!

Before the draft starts (Saturday March 2nd 3pm) I get the luxury of choosing my draft postion.  NFBC calls this KDS or Kentucky Derby System...  Basically it means I select my top choices where I would like to pick and the "computer" randomly draws each team and picks their top choice or their next if taken and so on and so on.  If you are super interested in learning more about KDS click here!

Here is what I am going with and why.

If I can select 1-4 I know that I am guaranteed one of these studs:
Ryan Braun, Miguel Cabrera, Mike Trout,  Carlos Gonzales

Most people/analysts would switched out CarGo for either or Cano and McCutchen.  I feel as if McCutchen will regress and Cano's contract situation could be a distraction.

If I can't pick 1-4 I want to pick late so I can pick back to back on the ends or close to it.  If I end up picking their Ill let you know my strategy when I get to thinking about while I wait for my turn to draft... #8hoursperpick

Why not Cano or McCutchen?

Looking at Fangraphs nifty projections a couple of things jump out.
Here is ZIPs projections for Cano vs McCutchen vs Cargo.
Thanks Fangraphs for your baseball stats galore.

First of all lets rule out Cano from the start.  He will not steal bases... Now that is an huge issue with one of the categories being stolen bases.  His power numbers are comparable to CarGo and Cutch but the stolen bases are a deal breaker.  Now, I know Cano is THE best 2nd baseman and no one can touch him with a 200 million dollar stick but Ill let someone else draft him.  For my money I want a 5 tool player in the first round or Miguel Cabrera.

Now Cutch vs CarGo... Very close but.. Cargo looks to edge him in HRs, RBIs and AVG.  Now these projections are based a healthy season for both players.  Injuries are tough to predict and CarGo would have more risk I guess because of past injuries but I just see more upside with him.
